Ashley Try these, most not too ruined; Let us know what you think. There are plenty more. Erik Whoops !! It's north-WEST of Winchester. Sorry. [This message has been edited by AJR (edited 03-20-2002).] Thank you, Ashley AshleyMustang I want to research a new castle that I haven't heard of.....any Ideas? I'm desperately bored with the ones that everyone knows about and has researched until they know who put each stone where it was when the castle was built!! Something new......PLEASE?? ipflo real research or research on the internet?
which part of europe?Peter Hi Mustang,
What country as 'ipflo' asked ?
Then we can throw a whole series of ideas at you. Try Italy or Spain, then you can enjoy the sunshine whilst you search.
Or the remains of a Welsh one in an unusual setting .. how about Deganwy.
Why is the setting unusual ?Erik Schmidt Giving you names of castles you haven't heard of is easy, but it's more difficult if you also want info on them to be easily avaiable on the web.
Also, how complete do you want the remains to be?
Montfort, Israel.
Antipatrus, Israel. No info on the web last I checked.
Toprakkale, Tumlu, Yilan(Ilan) and Kozan castles, Turkey. No info on most of them on the web last I checked.AJR Maybe you would be interested in researching Ashley Castle. It lies in Hampshire, England, just north-east of Winchester. Mustang Thank you for so many options, I especially like the Ashley Castle.....I have a lot to research now.
MustangAJR Unfortunately, I've just found some info on Ashley Castle on the internet.
See http://www.hants.gov.uk/hampshiretreasures/vol09/page009.html Gordon Here's one for the real researcher, if Ashley wants to try it, there's my old 'favourite' Bean Castle, or I've a suspicion that there was a fortified house of some kind at Daldowie just outside Glasgow.
There's two that really haven't been researched succesfully and a real challenge!Mustang Ooooooh! Great! I love a good challenge and I have time to do some research! Andrew, why do you say unfortunately? Is it sarcasm?? Thanks for the new "mind benders"! AJR I said "unfortunately" because you said you wanted something "new" or unresearched. Mustang Andrew,
It's okay because It's unresearched and new to me! Thanks!
